El escritor y productor Simon Kinberg, para MTV, ha realizado unas declaraciones en las cuales dice que el traje de la versión cinematográfica del villano principal de la próxima película de los X-Men interpretado por Oscar Isaac es cósmico.
"I feel like we have been, the ’X-Men’ franchise, has been growing a little bit more into science fiction. I think ’Days of Future Past’ with time travel and the Sentinels took us into a slightly broader, more science fiction world than the films had occupied in the past,” he said. “We felt like the movies were ready for something that was slightly more, let’s say, cosmic. Once we made the decision for Apocalypse to be the villain at the center of the movie, we wanted to be true to the comics, which are sort of, like you, say, not costume, but it’s not just a guy in a helmet. It is more cosmic.”
La presentación de este traje y versión de Apocalypse no estuvo exenta de polémica, ya que ha algunos les recordó al villano de los Power Rangers, Ivan Oozoe. Y no con poca razón. Además, el actor Oscar Isaac, ha realizado unas declaraciones en las cuales insinúa que el villano no cambiará de tamaño a gigante como en la versión de cómic.
"We had to do some adjustments here and there and be like, alright, maybe this is too alien. He also is someone who people would want to follow and not just be terrified of. So the balance, and then making sure that there’s some great elements from the comic but also making our own thing as well. In the comic, he generally is like 12 feet, 600 pounds."
El aspecto de Apocalypse, está desligado de la versión Marvel en cómic, como ya ha pasado con Wolverine, cuyo traje típico solo se ha presentado en el final alternativo de Wolverine: Inmortal y con los Centinelas de X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Simon Kinberg parece empeñado en realizar sus versiones propias de superhéroes, a los Fantastic Four los destrozó quitándoles el logo del 4 caracterisitico, entre otras cosas, pero habrá que esperar a ver la película para saber si en conjunto no queda mal.
X-Men: Apocalypse se estrena el 27 de mayo del 2016.
