En el número de este mes de Empire Magazine, aparte de las nuevas fotos de la película Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, aparece una entrevista con el director de la misma, Zack Synder y la actriz Gal Gadot, en la que realizan unos comentarios sobre la Wonder Woman cinematográfica.
Zack Snyder dice lo siguiente:
"It was incredibly organic how Wonder Woman came into the story," Snyder tells Empire. "The whole concept came of, 'Let's not save anything. Let's try it all.' Then Wonder Woman's entrance made us realize we were much closer to the Justice League than we thought. We realized we were one movie away."
Gal Gadot dice lo siguiente:
"Because she's seen it all, she has seen what humans can do, so it was very hard for her to come back and fight," Gadot shared. "They have the same attitude. Although when she is Diana she tries to blend in, she is not too outgoing. I don't want people to think she is perfect. She can be naughty."
"Her sexuality is part of her power, but she is also a feminist icon. Gender has been a hot topic, so it is very timely to bring her back," Gadot explained. "The way we have approached it, especially in the stand alone movie, that is definitely there. Looking back and doing an origin story - and it is a period piece - see the role of women through history. There is a great source of humour in that now. It is so unbelievable you can't even fathom it. You are still making a statement, but having some fun with it."
Zack Snyder también dice que Wonder Woman, en película tendrá 5000 años de edad, totalmente mitológica.
En referencia a las palabras de Gal Gadot de que la sexualidad de Wonder Woman sea parte de su poder, me parece mal que lo distinga de que sea un ícono feminista. El poder sexual lo tienen todos los superhéroes y si de algo trata el feminismo es de que las mujeres hagan lo que les salga del coño. Y me imagino que a la sexualidad a la que se refiere la actriz no es a la que se sobreentiende en los cómics de Wonder Woman, la lesbiana. Wonder Woman no es una puta cualquiera. Tiene ese algo que otras superheroínas no tiene al venir de una isla en la que solo conviven mujeres. Pero no creo que ni se haya leído un cómic y se haya fijado en que lo que más se ven son cuerpos femeninos. Espero que por lo menos el guión si.
Y si se va de tratar con humor como se han tratado a las mujeres en tiempos pasados...
